About the role
This 12‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in the daily operations of a quick‑service or casual‑dining restaurant. Working under supervision, you will rotate across all restaurant sections and develop a solid foundation in hospitality management.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Support all operational areas, from front‑of‑house to back‑of‑house.
- Supervise and motivate the on‑duty team.
- Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to individuals and teams.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock issuance.
- Maintain operational standards and deliver detailed feedback.
- Protect brand integrity through compliance.
- Handle customer queries and complaints.
Required profile
- South African citizen aged 18‑28.
- Never participated in a YES programme.
- Matriculation mandatory; tertiary food‑service qualification preferred.
- Graduate status acceptable.
