Assistant Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The client is an up‑market hotel and conference centre in Pretoria seeking an Assistant Executive Housekeeper. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will supervise housekeeping staff, ensure luxury‑level cleanliness, and uphold guest satisfaction across rooms, suites, public areas and laundry.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the housekeeping team, conduct appraisals and manage rosters based on occupancy forecasts.
• Maintain world‑class cleanliness standards through inspections, deep‑cleaning projects and coordination with Front Office and Maintenance.
• Handle guest complaints, VIP requests and lost‑and‑found items with discretion and prompt resolution.
• Control inventory of luxury linens, amenities and cleaning supplies, performing regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
• Develop and enforce health, safety, hygiene and brand compliance procedures, including training programmes.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; hospitality or housekeeping management certification preferred.
• Proven supervisory experience in hotel or facility housekeeping operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Physical stamina, reliable punctuality and a professional appearance.
• Ability to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team.
