About the role

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking motivated South African post‑graduates for its one‑year Graduate Development Programme 2023. Participants will rotate through key departments, receive formal training at the SARB Academy, and contribute to the Bank’s core mission of maintaining price and financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in economic research, policy analysis and financial modelling.
• Support supervision of the South African financial industry and implementation of monetary policy.
• Contribute to projects in public finance, risk management, treasury and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with senior staff to develop recommendations for policy and operational improvements.

Required profile

• South African citizenship.
• Completed postgraduate degree with at least 65% average.
• Strong interest in financial services, economics or policy making.
• Proven academic excellence and good communication skills.
