Observation Personnel – Alkantpan Test Range

About the role

Armscor is recruiting an Observation Personnel for its Alkantpan Test Range division, based at the Alkantpan Impact area in Copperton. This is a full-time, onsite position classified under Job Grade A3, focused on ensuring effective and efficient ordnance observation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct orientation for clients on the impact area.
• Observe and report impact data and ordnance functioning.
• Record measured data accurately.
• Relay data accurately via radio.
• Perform first-level maintenance on applicable equipment.
• Support other functions on an ad hoc basis.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in an administrative environment.
• Ability to observe precisely, record data accurately and report effectively.

Required skills

• Knowledge of how to use a two-way radio.
• Communication skills.
• Knowledge of the preparation and operation of a theodolite.
