Night Auditor

About the role

Karen Tupper Recruitment is recruiting a full-time Night Auditor for a hotel in the Western Cape, South Africa. The Night Auditor manages front desk operations overnight, handles guest arrivals and departures, and completes end-of-day procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the front desk, incoming calls, guest check-ins and check-outs
• Deliver exceptional guest service, answering enquiries and resolving complaints professionally
• Complete end-of-day procedures, financial reconciliations, cash handling and operational reporting
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve account-related issues, verifying guest information and payment methods
• Collaborate with Front Office, security and other departments; maintain guest privacy, confidentiality and workplace safety
• Upsell hotel products and services and handle sensitive situations with tact and discretion
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and service standards

Required profile

• South African citizen residing in Cape Town
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification; hospitality qualification preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment
• Fluent English with excellent communication and telephone etiquette
• Well-presented, professional and guest-focused approach
• Ability to work independently, show initiative and perform under pressure
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Opera (PMS) is essential
• Sound financial acumen and experience in financial reconciliation and reporting
• Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
