Murex Application Developer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Murex Application Developer to join Amidel’s Johannesburg team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves designing, developing, testing and implementing Murex solutions that meet client requirements across various engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and refactoring of Murex workflows, Datamarts, and extraction scripts to improve system efficiency.
• Drive migration of trades, market data and reference data, and enhance interfaces with external settlement instruction repositories.
• Integrate Murex with third‑party confirmation and settlement systems and build new upstream/downstream integrations.
• Develop MxML workflows and exchanges, and use scripting languages (bsh, ksh) for automation.
• Participate in testing phases including SIT and UAT and support release cycles.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Murex, including workflow configuration and integration.
• Strong programming background in Java, Python or C++ and proficiency with Bash/Korn shell scripting.
• Proactive problem‑solver with excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Adaptable to changing project requirements and committed to continuous learning of Murex updates and industry trends.
