About the role
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMP) offers five structured 24‑month internship positions within the Finance, Internal Audit and Risk departments of Mantsopa Local Municipality. Interns will gain practical experience in municipal budgeting, treasury operations and compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in the implementation of MFMA, GRAP standards and municipal finance policies.
- Assist with financial reporting, internal audit tasks and risk management activities.
- Complete educational and workplace assignments as part of the National Treasury Finance Intern Skills Development Programme.
Required profile
- Three‑year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Economics or Finance (majors may include Risk Management or Auditing).
- Age between 21 and 35 years.
- Willingness to sign an internship agreement in addition to the employment contract.
What we offer
- Annual remuneration of R 100 000 (all‑inclusive).
- Fixed‑term 24‑month internship contract providing structured professional training.
