About the role

Jaguar Land Rover Stellenbosch offers an apprenticeship programme for motivated young people who want to start a long-term career as a mechanic. The programme combines theoretical study with practical, on-the-job training in a workshop, lasting about 3 to 4 years. It suits someone with strong technical and mechanical ability and a disciplined, focused work ethic.

Key responsibilities

• Learn in-depth mechanical and technical skills under the guidance of experienced industry technicians.
• Perform a range of mechanical activities, including minor and major servicing and repairs.
• Carry out component replacements and engine and electrical diagnostics.
• Complete set daily tasks and duties.
• Keep up with new techniques and rapidly changing technology through formal training sessions.

Required profile

• South African citizen aged 18 to 25.
• Matric with Maths and Science, or N3 or Technical Grade 11 with relevant subjects.
• Strong mechanical and technical ability, with a can-do attitude and a desire to develop into an industry-leading technician.
• Ability to follow directions, listen and learn; calm, mature, honest and conscientious, with strong verbal and written communication.
• Team player, reliable and punctual.
• Commitment to completing the full apprenticeship programme.
• Candidates from outside the Western Cape will not be considered.
