Maintenance Technician

About the role

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its Production department at Premier Place. The successful candidate will ensure reliable operation of plant equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs according to OEM recommendations.
• Respond rapidly to unplanned breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement lasting repairs.
• Perform equipment inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and condition monitoring.
• Complete job cards in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate fault details, time, and material usage.
• Maintain compliance with safety, food safety (GMP), and environmental standards, including permit‑to‑work and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Support asset‑care initiatives such as 5S, root‑cause analysis (RCA), and reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM).
• Communicate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Stores teams and assist in training maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Minimum N6 Certificate with Trade Test as a Millwright.
• Preferred N6 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Millwright Trade Certificate.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Mechanical fault‑finding and repair.
• Electrical fault‑finding and repair.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance execution.
• Equipment inspection and condition monitoring.
• Use of a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Interpretation of technical drawings and OEM documentation.
• Compliance with SHEQ and GMP standards.
• Root‑cause analysis, lockout/tagout, and permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Knowledge of 5S, RCA, and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices.
