Maintenance Technician – Hotel Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join The Silo Hotel in Cape Town. The role ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment operate to the highest standards, supporting a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks in arrival rooms, villas and hotel areas using the prescribed checklist.
• Keep plant rooms organised, clean and fully functional.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in HVAC, refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Maintain hotel equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with the team to meet productivity, quality and guest‑satisfaction targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar hospitality environment.
• Professional appearance, energetic attitude and strong communication skills in English.
• Reliability, punctuality, proactive mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Team player who aligns with The Royal Portfolio’s purpose and values.
• South African citizenship is advantageous; a valid work permit is required for non‑citizens.

Required skills

• HVAC and refrigeration qualification.
• Electrical knowledge and fault‑finding ability.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays and standby periods.
