Logistics Manager

About the role

The Logistics Manager will own the end‑to‑end supply chain for our South Africa Distribution Hub, Zanzibar Warehouse and all export corridors. You will be responsible for selecting the optimal transport mode, ensuring cost efficiency, delivery reliability and full compliance with stock movement and quality release procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound stock movements from bulk suppliers to the Distribution Hub, coordinating with suppliers and freight forwarders to meet lead times.
• Oversee quarantine, quality release and entry of incoming stock into the distribution flow.
• Plan and execute local client deliveries, guaranteeing on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) performance.
• Coordinate foreign export shipments to Tanzania mainland, Zanzibar, other Indian Ocean islands and Europe, handling customs documentation, freight bookings and delivery confirmation.
• Evaluate and select the most suitable freight mode (road, sea, air) for each shipment based on cost, urgency, size and client SLA.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of freight rates, transit times and provider performance across all corridors.
• Maintain proactive client‑facing communication on delivery timelines and any schedule changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing inbound and outbound logistics across multiple international corridors.
• Strong understanding of customs documentation and compliance requirements for South Africa, Indian Ocean islands and Europe.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with road hauliers, shipping lines, air freight providers and customs brokers.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in coordinating complex freight operations.
