Linux System Engineer (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Linux System Engineer with 2‑5 years of experience to support, implement, and maintain industrial systems in the oil & gas storage and distribution sector.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux servers.
• Manage Oracle and SQL Server databases, write SQL scripts and stored procedures.
• Perform software testing, validation and support system commissioning activities.
• Participate in system roll‑outs, upgrades and migrations from legacy platforms.
• Support FAT, SAT and deliver end‑user training.
• Work with Terminal Automation Systems (TAS) and Terminal Management Systems (TMS).
• Interface with field devices and controllers such as Accuload III/IV and Multiload batch controllers.
• Support truck and rail loading/off‑loading skids and related automation.
• Develop and analyse operational data for reporting and analytics.
• Design or support report development using SAP Crystal Reports or Jasper.
• Ensure system integration via Modbus TCP, Modbus Serial and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to guarantee reliability, performance and security.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience as a System Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and stored‑procedure development.
• Experience in software testing and system validation.
• Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with oil & gas storage and distribution processes (preferred).
• Exposure to truck/rail loading operations (advantage).
