eCommerce Platform Operations Specialist

About the role

The eCommerce Platform Operations Specialist supports the smooth and reliable running of Leroy Merlin's digital platforms. Acting as a central coordination hub, the role logs, escalates and resolves platform incidents while working closely with contact centre, store, product, data and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily quality‑assurance testing across the eCommerce website, mobile app and related digital platforms.
• Test core customer journeys such as browse, search, basket, checkout and account functionality.
• Log, document and track platform defects with clear severity and reproduction steps.
• Manage incident and ticket workflows, ensuring proper routing, tracking and escalation.
• Monitor platform performance using observability tools and proactively identify outages.
• Support internal teams (Contact Centre, stores, marketing, offers) with platform‑related queries.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, marketing and operations to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Conduct user‑acceptance and regression testing for new features and releases.
• Validate fixes and support release sign‑off by confirming system stability before go‑live.
• Maintain documentation, testing checklists and process improvements.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Information Systems or related field advantageous.
• Experience working with eCommerce platforms such as Magento (Adobe Commerce).

Required skills

• Magento (Adobe Commerce) platform knowledge.
• Product information and merchandising tools: Akeneo PIM, Dynamic Yield, Algolia.
• Ticketing systems such as Jira or Freshdesk.
• Observability and platform monitoring tools.
• Understanding of eCommerce architecture, APIs and system integrations.
