Lecturer – Financial Management (Independent Contractor)

About the role

The university seeks an experienced lecturer to teach Financial Management and related subjects within the Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting programme. The role involves designing and delivering lectures, workshops and practical sessions to help students understand core concepts and succeed academically.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and workshops both in‑person and online.
• Design, update and maintain course content, curricula and instructional materials.
• Develop and administer assessments such as exams, assignments and presentations, and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress, keep accurate academic records and offer academic advice.
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in departmental committees, administrative tasks and policy implementation.
• Promote an inclusive classroom environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree or diploma (NQF level 8) in Financial Management or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at tertiary level, with experience in both face‑to‑face and online delivery considered an advantage.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative research on teaching and learning.
