Last Mile Operations Supervisor – Delivery Station

About the role

Amazon is building its last‑mile delivery network in South Africa and needs a hands‑on Operations Supervisor to lead a delivery station. You will oversee both under‑the‑roof (UTR) and on‑the‑road (OTR) activities, ensuring packages move efficiently from the dock to the customer’s doorstep.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound package flow, sortation accuracy and staging for dispatch.
• Plan and adjust labour deployment against volume forecasts, resolve real‑time bottlenecks and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Own daily stand‑ups, operational reporting and track key metrics such as delivery success rate, concessions and on‑time performance.
• Partner with transportation planning teams on capacity and demand alignment.
• Contribute to peak‑readiness, contingency planning and launch of new processes.
• Switch between floor operations and laptop‑based analysis to balance immediate firefighting with longer‑term improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation or warehouse operations.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Willingness to adjust working schedule to match operational priorities, especially during launches and peak periods.
