Landscaping Irrigation Technician – Luxury Boutique Hotel, Franschhoek

About the role

Pick Me Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Landscaping Irrigation Technician for a luxury boutique hotel in Franschhoek. The technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all irrigation systems across the estate and other properties, ensuring efficient water use and supporting landscaping and vineyard health. The role suits a proactive, hands-on person.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair irrigation systems
• Program time clocks for automated irrigation systems
• Install and program irrigation electronic controllers
• Manage and control inventory of irrigation parts and spares
• Monitor and maintain optimum soil moisture levels
• Carry out general landscaping work during winter or rainy periods
• Train landscaping and garden teams to meet neatness and tidiness standards
• Follow and implement management and inspection protocols
• Make recommendations to reduce costs, water usage and replanting needs

Required profile

• Matric
• 2 years of experience in a similar position
• Ability to assess landscaped conditions for a healthy growing environment
• Team player who communicates accurately and on time
• Must reside in the Franschhoek area; candidates already living there have preference
• Only South African citizens or permanent residents are considered; no work permit applications accepted

Required skills

• Operating garden equipment and tools
• Installing and programming irrigation controllers and time clocks
