Laboratory Analyst – Coal Testing

About the role
Siza Coal Services is seeking a qualified Laboratory Analyst to conduct coal sample testing in its Centurion laboratory. The role involves accurate analysis, instrument maintenance and supporting the team to meet client turnaround times.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse coal samples according to prescribed methods and procedures.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Accurately calculate, record and report test results.
- Re‑analyse samples when results fall outside control limits.
- Maintain control charts and ensure timely completion of analyses.
- Assist with sample preparation, screening and occasional driving duties.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics, Science and English; National Diploma/Higher Certificate in Analytical Chemistry is an advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in a coal laboratory environment and operating laboratory equipment.
Required skills
- Operation of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments.
