About the role
The K9 Unit Driver / Kennel Hand supports the K9 Unit in the Paarl area, providing transport, trailer towing and daily care for trained security dogs. The role combines driving duties with hands‑on handling of the K9 team to ensure operational readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Drive and tow a trailer to transport K9 units and equipment to various sites.
- Handle, feed, groom and exercise trained K9s in accordance with security protocols.
- Maintain operational registers, checklists and incident reports accurately.
- Work shifts, weekends, public holidays and after‑hours as required.
Required profile
- PSIRA registered security officer with a DH2 qualification.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code EB preferred) and ability to tow a trailer.
- 2–3 years of experience in K9 or security operations, including practical dog handling.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and a clean criminal record.
