Security Supervisor, O.R. Tambo SEZ / GIDZ

About the role

The Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), the implementation arm of the Department of Economic Development, is recruiting a Security Supervisor for the O.R. Tambo SEZ / GIDZ. The post provides and supports a full 24-hour Security Control Room operation, supervising all systems so that requests for assistance are attended to and electronic systems run optimally. The incumbent manages IT Security Officers and on-site security operations and reports to the Security Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the 24/7 alarm and CCTV control room, plan work procedures, document activities and ensure all shifts are covered
• Develop systems and procedures, train Control Room Officers and new employees, and develop SOPs, emergency protocols and control room manuals
• Assess risks at collection and drop-off points, dispatch security officers to investigate alarms and incidents, and coordinate with emergency services
• Monitor and troubleshoot security systems, issue and track work orders, and maintain records of control room documents
• Manage access control cards and key fobs, order supplies and equipment, and handle complaints and incident reports
• Apply basic financial management and understand the PFMA; consult clients to assess risks and security requirements

Required profile

• Grade 12 or higher with a related qualification
• Grade A PSIRA registered
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members, interpret data and spot problems, and maintain confidentiality

Required skills

• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of the OSI model for security systems networks
