Junior Technician – SCASS (Surface/Underground) – Thabazimbi

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is seeking a Junior Technician to provide technical services for electronic technology used in health, safety and productivity on a mining site in Thabazimbi, Limpopo. The role involves installation, maintenance and support of electronic products and systems on both surface and underground operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems to meet safety and quality standards.
• Set up and test equipment to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate to senior staff.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software according to company standards and client scope.
• Record maintenance activities, report further requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand tools and small power tools safely and maintain a clean work environment.
• Liaise with other technical staff and customers to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Provide regular feedback to the Technical Coordinator and Supervisor and support senior technicians as needed.

Required profile

• National Grade 4 (N4) qualification in Electronic/Electrical.
• 2‑4 years of experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Ability to follow safety regulations, risk assessments and maintain valid medical inductions.

Required skills

• Electronics hardware installation and maintenance.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Use of hand tools and small power tools.
