Junior Technician – Surface & Underground – Thabazimbi

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is seeking a Junior Technician to provide technical services for electronic equipment used in surface and underground mining operations in Thabazimbi, Limpopo. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electronic technology that supports health, safety, and productivity on the mine.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and support electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software in line with company standards and client scope.
• Report and record maintenance requirements and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and small power tools safely, maintain housekeeping, and follow health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Liaise with other technical staff and site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.
• Provide regular feedback to supervisors and support senior technicians.
• Complete required documentation, reports and paperwork for the mine and customers.

Required profile

• National Diploma (N4) in Electronic/Electrical engineering.
• 2‑4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Detail‑oriented, disciplined, respectful and eager to learn.
