Junior Laser Technician

About the role

This is an entry-level Junior Laser Technician position in Midrand, South Africa, with full-time work. The company supplies laser equipment and prioritises after-sales support; the role involves maintaining, repairing and assembling laser equipment. Training is provided to the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Manually maintain, repair and build laser equipment
• Assemble machines for dispatch to customers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on machines
• Repair machines within the factory or on customer sites

Required profile

• Trustworthy, well-groomed person who can act professionally and represent the company
• First and second languages: English and Afrikaans
• Able and willing to travel widely, including several nights away from home, with a valid passport, South African ID and a valid driving licence (code 8)
• Strong communication skills and good physical and mental condition, able to move and lift heavy objects
• Some basic training in electrical or electronics and computer literacy

Required skills

• Basic understanding of tools such as screwdrivers, drills, multimeters and soldering irons
• Knowledge of electronic/electrical systems, fault detection and equipment repair is advantageous
