Junior Industrial Engineer

About the role

National Brands Limited is looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer to join its Coffee & Creamer factory in Isando. The role focuses on maximizing equipment design capability, ensuring process outputs meet agreed standards, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess process and packaging capability against performance targets and develop improvement plans.
• Monitor and control process inputs to optimise outputs.
• Identify improvement opportunities using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
• Recommend, document and obtain sign‑off for process and packaging changes.
• Facilitate team problem‑solving, applying root‑cause analysis, formal failure analysis and gap‑management principles.
• Analyse out‑of‑control situations and implement corrective actions.
• Collect and analyse data to support decisions that may involve financial investment.
• Resolve team conflicts promptly to maintain effective collaboration.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification (industrial, mechanical or related) – junior level.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑driven environment.
• Good communication skills for documenting and presenting findings.
