Junior Industrial Engineer

About the role

National Brands Limited (NBL) is looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer to join its Coffee & Creamer factory in Isando. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will help maximise equipment design capability and maintain agreed production standards in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise process and packaging outputs by assessing capability against agreed performance targets.
• Develop and implement plans to address capability gaps and monitor inputs to improve efficiency.
• Identify improvement opportunities using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.
• Recommend, document and obtain sign‑off for process and packaging changes.
• Facilitate team problem‑solving, applying root‑cause analysis, formal failure analysis and gap‑management principles.
• Analyse out‑of‑control situations and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Collect and analyse data to support decision‑making and financial justification of solutions.
• Resolve team conflicts promptly to maintain a collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• Junior level industrial engineering background.
• Ability to work under the guidance of the Technical Manager.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
