Junior Financial & Performance Coordinator

About the role

A mining company's client is looking for a motivated recent graduate to work closely with the Managing Director in Centurion, Gauteng. The role covers financial analysis, operational performance monitoring, business management, project coordination and strategic planning, with the scope adjusted to the candidate's qualifications. A law degree with a strong financial component may also bring legal responsibilities. It is a junior-level position with no additional benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Managing Director on operational and strategic projects
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Assist with developing and maintaining financial models
• Prepare efficiency and performance reports
• Conduct costing analyses and assist with budget preparation
• Support project planning, implementation and progress tracking
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and service providers
• Assist with business planning and operational decisions
• Compile management reports and presentations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties assigned by management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BCom or related) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or similar, with a strong financial component
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Willingness to travel to mines as required
