Junior Business Development Manager
BROKSTOCK · Cape Town
Job description
About the role
BROKSTOCK is looking for a motivated Junior Client Development Manager to join its Cape Town sales team. The role focuses on outbound engagement with a large warm client base: contacting clients, building rapport, understanding their needs and financial potential, identifying upsell opportunities and transferring qualified leads to a Business Development Manager. It is a high-volume calling role of about 80-100 calls per day, suitable for someone early in their sales career who already knows the basics of sales and wants to grow in the investment and fintech industry.
Key responsibilities
- Make approximately 80-100 outbound calls per day.
- Work with warm client lists generated through platform activity and behavioural triggers.
- Establish contact and build trust with clients.
- Ask structured questions to understand client needs, experience and financial potential.
- Identify opportunities to increase client engagement and assets on the platform.
- Present relevant platform benefits and offers.
- Qualify clients and transfer high-potential opportunities to a BDM.
- Schedule follow-up calls or meetings where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records, outcomes and next steps in the CRM.
- Follow approved scripts, compliance requirements and sales processes.
Required profile
- About one year of experience in sales, telesales, customer service or a client-facing role.
- Understanding of the basic sales process.
- Strong communication and active-listening skills, able to build rapport quickly.
- Comfortable working with daily call and conversion targets.
- Resilience, discipline and a results-oriented mindset.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Interest in investments, financial markets or fintech.
- Experience in banking, financial services, brokerage, insurance or call-centre sales is an advantage; knowledge of Afrikaans, isiXhosa or another South African language is also beneficial.
What we offer
- Career progression: Junior BDM to Business Development Manager, then to Senior BDM or Team Lead.
- Product training, approved sales scripts, coaching and practical experience with an established client base.
