Java Developer – Intermediate / Senior (Honeydew, Randburg)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer at either intermediate or senior level to join our established development team in Honeydew, Randburg. The role involves designing, building and maintaining robust Java‑based applications and backend services using Spring Boot.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain Java applications and services.
• Build scalable, reliable backend solutions with Spring Boot.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate internal and external systems.
• Participate in solution design, architecture discussions and development planning.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, integration issues and production incidents.
• Write clean, reusable, well‑documented code and conduct code reviews.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, testers and other stakeholders throughout the Agile development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong commercial software development experience using Java.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and backend service development.
• Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design principles.
