IT Endpoint Security Engineer

About the role

As an Endpoint Security Engineer you will protect the Scheme’s digital environment by securing laptops, desktops, mobile devices and servers against evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement and manage endpoint security solutions to safeguard sensitive information and ensure business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure security software such as antivirus, EDR, endpoint management and encryption tools on all endpoints.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards and procedures governing endpoint usage.
• Monitor endpoint activity and security logs using SIEM tools to detect suspicious behavior.
• Investigate security incidents, recommend corrective actions and ensure remediation is applied.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure timely patching of operating systems, applications and firmware.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (3‑year degree).
• At least 5 years of experience in an endpoint security role.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+ or EC‑Council CEH.
