IT Audit Senior Consultant (Independent Contractor)

About the role

Deloitte is hiring an IT Audit Senior Consultant as an independent contractor for a 12-month engagement in Midrand, South Africa. The role supports the engagement team in delivering services to and at client premises on delegated engagements or projects, helping identify risks and develop solutions through the interdependencies between technology and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and verify an organisation's IT controls and processes as an independent external auditor, assessing the reliability, integrity and security of IT systems, infrastructure and data against standards, laws and regulations.
• Plan and execute IT audit engagements, IT control testing and technology assurance.
• Prepare audit reports, identify control weaknesses and recommend remediation.
• Manage junior team members and review their work.
• Support the engagement team in delivering services to clients at client premises.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science or similar.
• 4-6 years of external IT audit working experience.
• Demonstrated interest in IT and specialised assurance.
• Knowledgeable in ERP systems and IT governance.
• Available immediately or from December 2026.
