Hosting Engineer

About the role

Jurumani Solutions, a company in the technology and telecommunications industry based in Midrand, Gauteng, is looking for an experienced Hosting Engineer. You will join a technical provisioning team supporting the hosting components of converged network infrastructure across virtual and physical environments, helping keep businesses connected.

Key responsibilities

• Support and deliver hosting solutions in complex telecommunications and ICT environments, implementing them according to approved designs and project requirements.
• Work with virtual and physical hosting infrastructure, server platforms and data centre technologies.
• Advise customers on hosting solutions and liaise with them throughout projects so their technical requirements are met.
• Work with DNS, email platforms, email security and networking technologies, and support security technologies such as FortiGate firewalls.
• Assist with backup solutions and help maintain reliable hosting environments.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and stakeholders, and support the sales process with technical input.
• Keep project information, technical documentation and progress updates accurate and up to date.

Required profile

• Relevant IT diploma or bachelor's degree, or matric with relevant IT certifications.
• Approximately 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in hosting and infrastructure technologies.
• At least 3 years in a complex ISP, data centre or hosting environment.
• Experience with virtual and physical hosting environments and ISP-class data centre hosting systems.
• Valid VMware VCP and/or Cisco CCNA certification.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when operations require it.
