IT Administrator - UPD Lea Glen (Roodepoort)

About the role

United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD) is recruiting a permanent IT Administrator for its Roodepoort (Lea Glen) branch. The role reports to the Service Manager (IT) Infrastructure and supports the IT Admin team in delivering user and customer service while driving the IT service desk.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the IT service desk, following processes and procedures to ensure compliance and reduce risk
• Work with UPD Online: add and remove facilities on menus and test new programs before they go into production
• Act as first point of contact for users and customers, follow up on service desk logs and address their concerns
• Draft and implement IT operational standards, procedures and a governance framework, and handle general administration and correspondence
• Record company IT assets, maintain a database, complete and sign off relevant forms, and place orders for IT equipment
• Support and test the in-house UPD system, manage queries from third-party electronic ordering systems and handle employee access to premises and zones

Required profile

• Matric qualification
• Sound understanding of a service desk and its operating principles
• ITIL awareness
• Ability to draft processes and procedures
• Excellent communication skills, high-level problem-solving ability, flexibility for varying hours, and a highly energetic, self-motivated approach
