Dispatch Clerk

About the role

A well-established clinical company based in Johannesburg is looking for a motivated, passionate and mature Dispatch Clerk to handle all inventory control and stock control responsibilities. The role covers the movement and distribution of products to and from the warehouse, including orders from suppliers and orders delivered to client companies. The position is advertised as permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the finance team on all international supplier stock ordered and received, and record incoming stock against order quantities.
• Check that received items are not damaged or tampered with, and store them correctly with quality control; rotate stock so older items are sold first.
• Collect invoices from finance daily, pick, pull and pack orders ready for shipping, and prepare packing slips and waybills.
• Keep pre-made boxes and packaging available, and double-check orders before they leave the warehouse.
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly stock takes, spot checks and audits, and report damaged, missing or expiring items to the Financial Manager.
• Keep the warehouse clean, orderly and secure, manage stationery and packing supplies, and complete general inventory and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Secondary school education.
• Strong administrative skills and willingness to work in a warehouse.
• Only non-smokers will be considered.

Required skills

• Pastel experience.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Good to excellent computer literacy.
