Inventory Clerk Intern (12 Months)

About the role

ACTOM is looking for an Inventory Clerk intern for a 12-month placement. The role keeps stock movements accurate, runs regular inventory audits and ensures all movements are properly recorded, supporting efficient inventory control, documentation and compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, record and manage all incoming and outgoing stock and client repairs
• Conduct regular stock audits and investigate variances until resolved; keep non-stock items updated daily
• Maintain and file GRN records, receiving stock only with a Stores Return Note and issuing it only with a Store Order Requisition or picking slip, with name, signature and date on every record
• Manage quarantine queries until resolved and report stock discrepancies, shortages or excesses to the Store Manager
• Pull stock correctly using picking slips and prepare daily stock audit reports, highlighting slow-moving or obsolete stock
• Comply with occupational health and safety policies and report damaged, expired or non-compliant items promptly

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Certificate or diploma in Inventory Management, Supply Chain or a related field is advantageous
• 2-3 years' experience in a stock or inventory control environment

Required skills

• Knowledge of stock control procedures and auditing requirements
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Syspro or similar is preferred
