Infrastructure Planning & Development Manager – 5 Year Contract

About the role

The Municipality seeks an experienced civil engineering professional to lead infrastructure planning, design, development and implementation. This is a five‑year fixed‑term position responsible for aligning projects with the Provincial Master Plan and ensuring technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Implement strategic alignment of infrastructure projects and oversee technical support services.
• Review, approve and monitor all infrastructure drawings and designs before implementation.
• Establish benchmarks, evaluate programme performance and prepare monitoring reports.

Required profile

• B‑Tech in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Registered with ECSA as PR Eng or PR Tech; registration with SABTACO or SAICE is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undergo vetting and security clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Strong civil engineering design and project management capabilities.
• Knowledge of budgeting, contract administration and relevant legislation.
