Civil Quality Supervisor - Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

A client of Bureau Veritas is delivering utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure across South Africa, including Solar PV, Wind and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This position is part of a project quality management team that ensures construction activities follow project specifications, regulatory requirements and industry best practice. The role covers seven projects and involves monitoring civil construction works and verifying compliance with specifications, codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor civil construction works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project quality requirements.
• Inspect earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations, hardstands and structural concrete works.
• Verify contractor quality documentation and inspection records.
• Take part in Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) hold points and witness points.
• Identify, document and track non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Support punch listing and project close-out activities.
• Prepare quality reports and share quality observations with the project team.
• Promote adherence to project quality management systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction quality supervision on renewable construction projects.
• Experience on renewable energy projects is mandatory.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality principles.
• Understanding of civil construction inspection requirements on renewable energy projects.
• Desired: utility-scale Solar PV and wind farm construction experience, and EPC contractor or owner's engineer environment experience.
