Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our fast‑moving, cloud‑led team in Cape Town. You will work at the core of a high‑performance technology environment that powers large‑scale online gaming platforms, where uptime, speed, and scalability are critical.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new infrastructure environments and platform setups.
• Support infrastructure automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Test and evaluate new systems and services for production readiness.
• Monitor and support live and staging environments.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and platform issues.
• Assist with software release and deployment activities.
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues raised by support teams.
• Manage incidents, service requests, problems, and change requests following ITIL best practices.
• Perform detailed log, metrics, and root‑cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and third‑party providers to ensure reliability and performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Linux‑based environments and production support.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle high‑availability workloads.

• Kubernetes (preferably GKE)
• Cloud platforms: Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, OpenShift
• Networking concepts and infrastructure diagnostics
• Monitoring and observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, APM solutions
