Information Security Specialist

About the role

An Information Security Specialist is needed to support a leading multi‑listed client in Johannesburg North. The role focuses on vulnerability management, building security architectural frameworks, and conducting comprehensive risk assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vulnerability identification, analysis, and remediation across the environment.
• Design and implement security architectural frameworks aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct end‑to‑end risk assessments and produce actionable recommendations.
• Support network, infrastructure, and web security initiatives where required.
• Assist with compliance to ISO 27001, NIST and other relevant standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Security, or Information Systems.
• Minimum 3 years of experience specializing in vulnerability management and cybersecurity.
• Experience creating risk assessments from scratch.
• Background in network, infrastructure or web security is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks (nice to have).
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or CISO are a plus.
