Industrial Refrigeration Technician

About the role

An experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician is needed to join a technically focused team handling installations, maintenance, servicing and breakdown support for industrial refrigeration plants. The role is hands‑on, requiring strong mechanical, electrical and refrigeration knowledge to keep plant reliability high.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative maintenance on industrial refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
• Inspect plant and equipment to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
• Service and maintain compressors, pumps, motors, valves, evaporators, condensers and associated equipment.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Attend to breakdowns and emergency call‑outs as required.
• Carry out pressure, temperature and operational checks, refrigerant leak detection and corrective maintenance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Perform electrical fault‑finding on motors, control panels and sensors.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records and technical reports accurately.

Required profile

• Relevant technical qualification in refrigeration, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Practical experience in an industrial refrigeration or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime, standby and respond to call‑outs.
