ICT Specialist – Member of Audit Committee (Performance Based Contract)

About the role

The Municipality is seeking an ICT Specialist to serve as a Member of the Audit Committee, providing strategic advice on ICT governance, security, policies and incident management.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Accounting Officer and Senior Management on ICT governance, security management, policies and incident handling.
• Provide oversight and performance management of ICT functions, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and standards.
• Review and approve ICT project implementation plans, risk management and information security documentation.
• Respond to audit findings, make recommendations on ICT‑related projects and ensure effective governance.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years experience serving on an Audit Committee and 8 years senior‑level experience in ICT governance or steering committees.
• Preparedness to obtain security clearance and ability to operate in a diverse community.

What we offer

• Remuneration range: R 932,548 – R 1,223,632 per annum (negotiable, based on competency and current salary).
• Performance‑based contract aligned with the Municipal Systems Act, up to three years subject to review.
