Information and Communication Technology Developer

About the role

The Presidency is recruiting an Information and Communication Technology Developer (ref. ICT/PRES/2026) in Pretoria. The post covers analysis, design and development of business applications, maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure, and support of ICT modernisation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design and develop business applications based on user requirements
• Develop business intelligence dashboards and reports for various systems
• Accelerate ICT modernisation projects, especially automation and digitalisation of business processes
• Develop in-house applications that route information and correspondence through user-defined rules and actions
• Evaluate, research and apply new technologies, and recommend improvements to management
• Maintain IT systems supporting strategic, operational and service delivery objectives, and support the ICT infrastructure
• Implement, monitor and upgrade multi-platform software systems
• Identify areas for modification in existing systems and implement them
• Draft standard operating procedures and document work
• Train users, discuss their requirements and propose solutions
• Integrate software modules with third-party applications and run systems integration tests
• Work with other IT team members to set specifications for new applications and monitor application quality
• Assist with software support and troubleshooting

Required profile

• Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 6
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in systems development according to the SDLC
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and in a team, with good time management
• Interest in computer systems and the latest technologies

Required skills

• Relational database concepts, SQL Server for database and query design
• SharePoint development and administration
• .NET Framework and C# programming
• Systems analysis, documentation and project management
