HVAC Technician – Commercial Systems (Fixed‑term)

About the role

Smart Staff Solutions is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join a fixed‑term, project‑based team in Potchefstroom. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and fault‑finding on commercial HVAC systems, ensuring all work meets industry standards and health‑safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on air‑conditioning units and chillers.
• Diagnose and repair faults in VRV and VRF systems.
• Carry out brazing, pipework installations and system commissioning.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and HVAC schematics.
• Complete job cards, service reports and maintain tools in good condition.
• Work independently and collaboratively within project teams.

Required profile

• Trade Test qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with commercial HVAC systems.
• Proven experience with VRV, VRF systems and commercial chillers.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work on a fixed‑term, project‑based contract in Potchefstroom.

What we offer

• Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 CTC per month.
