Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will support Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa’s people strategy by managing end‑to‑end HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, and compliance. This role sits at the intersection of service excellence and people experience, ensuring HR practices are seamless, legally compliant, and aligned with the luxury hospitality standards of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with department heads to forecast staffing needs, seasonal peaks, and roster requirements.
• Screen CVs, conduct interviews, assessments and reference checks; coordinate hiring decisions and offer management.
• Design and deliver structured onboarding plans, ensuring completion of statutory documentation, payroll forms and training modules.
• Advise line managers on policy application, facilitate conflict resolution and promote a positive workplace climate.
• Coordinate the performance cycle, including goal setting, reviews, calibration and development plans, integrating guest feedback where relevant.
• Conduct training needs analyses, create annual training calendars and track attendance, outcomes and compliance records.
• Maintain compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHSA, POPIA) and hotel policies; support internal and external audits.
• Administer payroll inputs for new hires, terminations and changes.
