Human Resources Officer – Municipal

About the role

The Kgatelopele Municipality is seeking a Human Resources Officer to support its Corporate Services department. This permanent position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment that blends mining, farming, and tourism activities while ensuring effective HR service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain employee databases, handle email correspondence, and keep accurate attendance and leave records for payroll processing.
• Assist the Senior HR Management Officer with policy formulation, recruitment, hiring, and salary administration.
• Shortlist candidates, schedule interviews, and coordinate orientation and training sessions for new staff.
• Serve as a primary contact for employee queries, ensuring timely and clear communication.
• Manage departmental schedules, meetings, and events, and ensure compliance with employment and labour legislation.
• Provide clerical support for disciplinary cases, grievances, dispute resolution, and training registers.
• Handle labour relations and disciplinary matters, conduct skills audits, and develop Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports in line with SETA requirements.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate.
• NQF Level 6/7 (National Diploma or Degree) in Human Resource Management or a related field, recognized by SAQA.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Human Resource Management or Labour Relations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in maintaining employee databases and record‑keeping systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply employment and labour laws.
