Human Resources Executive

About the role

The Human Resources Executive will lead the day‑to‑day HR function for House of Task’s Sandton office. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the company’s growth in the high‑end interior design and construction market by ensuring smooth employee lifecycle management and a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management and off‑boarding processes.
• Develop, implement and communicate HR policies while ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation.
• Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and HRIS data.
• Provide guidance to managers and staff on employee‑relations issues, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate talent development initiatives, training programmes and employee engagement activities.
• Identify and drive continuous improvements to HR processes aligned with the company’s values and growth objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing core HR functions across the employee lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, labour legislation and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience in design, construction or other creative industries is an advantage.

Required skills

• HRIS (human resources information system) proficiency.
