Human Resources Business Partner (Inland)

About the role

Icebolethu Group is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to provide operational and advisory HR support embedded within a designated business unit. The role partners with leadership to implement people strategies aligned with Group HR priorities and business objectives, focusing on talent management, employee relations and HR process execution.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate talent needs in the business unit and deliver fit-for-purpose hiring plans
• Ensure timely, fair and effective hiring and a smooth onboarding experience
• Monitor and reduce voluntary and involuntary exits, and give leadership root causes and solutions
• Manage cases fairly and consistently, minimise legal exposure at CCMA and ensure accurate HR data
• Analyse HR metrics and trends, and work with Risk and Audit to address HR risks
• Handle HR back-office functions such as documentation, payroll and compliance
• Drive performance management, manage performance gaps and risks, and prepare HR refreshers
• Run regular feedback mechanisms, promote employee wellness and coordinate wellness programmes with EAP and HSE teams
• Embed values and recognition, enhance morale and build strong internal and external relationships

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications or a related field
• Minimum 5-10 years in a generalist HR role, with strong experience in multi-disciplinary environments
• Postgraduate qualification and/or SABPP Chartered status advantageous

Required skills

• Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Sage 300 People
• Ability to extract, visualise and interpret data using Excel
• Strategy, policy and procedure formulation; change management
• Project management knowledge, facilitation and reporting skills
• Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills
