Human Resource Development Officer

About the role

The Human Resource Development Officer will manage training and development programmes across multiple sites, ensuring that contractual objectives are met through effective deployment of staff, labour, plant and materials. Regular travel to sites nationwide is required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver theoretical and practical training using up‑to‑date materials.
• Conduct operator evaluations, licence updates and spot checks.
• Maintain ISO‑compliant training documentation and records for SETA audits.
• Develop and improve course content and training plans.
• Train personnel on SOPs, STPs, COPs and standard procedures.
• Engage daily with site agents, supervisors and operators.
• Compile monthly training reports and skills plans for SETAs.
• Assist operators with hazard identification, risk assessments and safety matters.
• Identify candidates for future training and support recruitment processes.
• Provide standby support and resolve site issues as needed.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Mineral Processing or a related field.
• Qualified Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator registered with MQA.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a multi‑skilled operator on earth‑moving equipment (FEL, ADT, Grader, TLB, etc.).
• At least 2 years supervisory experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience training operators on earth‑moving equipment.
• Strong production background in earth‑moving operations.

Required skills

• Operation of earth‑moving equipment (FEL, ADT, Grader, TLB).
• Training facilitation and assessment (MQA).
• ISO 9001:2015 knowledge.
• Learning Management System (LMS) usage.
• Virtual Reality training platforms.
• Dover Systems familiarity.
• Hazard identification and risk assessment.
