HR Officer (Advisor) – Fixed Term

About the role

The client delivers engineering and project services across mining, infrastructure and process industries worldwide. They are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join the Cape Town team, reporting to the Manager of People & Culture. The role supports people policies, analytics, recruitment and other HR initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with talent acquisition, including job postings, interview scheduling, references and applicant communication.
• Manage the end‑to‑end new starter experience: contracts, onboarding documentation, compliance and inductions.
• Oversee off‑boarding processes, ensuring exit interviews and collection of company property.
• Support administration of HR platforms and maintain the Human Resource Information System.
• Assist with global mobility compliance for international assignments.
• Collect data and prepare statistics for business development, management reporting and employment equity planning.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in a people role within related industries.
• South African citizen or permanent resident, based in Cape Town.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and autonomous work capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a high degree of confidentiality.

• Experience with HRIS platforms (advantageous)
