Housekeeping Executive

About the role

The Housekeeping Executive oversees all housekeeping operations onboard a cruise ship, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. This role manages staff, guest and crew accommodations, public areas, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day operations of the housekeeping department, including cabins, public areas, crew areas, and laundry services.
• Manage a multicultural team of room stewards, cleaners, laundry attendants, and supervisors.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest staterooms, corridors, public areas, and crew quarters to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Ensure timely turnaround of staterooms, especially during embarkation and disembarkation.
• Monitor inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and linens; manage requisitions and stock control.
• Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff; ensure adherence to service standards and operational procedures.

Required profile

• GRADE 12 qualification.
• South African passport.
• Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping management experience in a hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment.
