Hotel Manager

About the role

As the Hotel Manager at Mount Nelson, a Belmond property, you will be responsible for preserving the brand’s reputation by overseeing all operational areas and delivering the signature Belmond experience to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across Food & Beverage, Front of House, Housekeeping, Spa & Wellness, Safety & Security and Sustainability.
• Manage external relationships with vendors, contractors and the corporate office.
• Drive a dynamic service culture to exceed guest expectations.
• Own budget lines, payroll and overall hotel financial performance.
• Ensure brand standards are consistently applied in every department.
• Collaborate with Finance and the General Manager to meet contractual, legal and corporate policy requirements.
• Plan staffing resources with department heads to maximise productivity and foster positive staff relations.
• Promote Belmond Core Values and lead teams to achieve KPIs such as Guest Satisfaction Index, LQA, Forbes, 50Best, financial targets and employee engagement.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in hospitality or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years at an executive committee (ExCo) level.
• Proven leadership ability with experience coordinating multiple functional teams.
• Strong communication, organisational and administrative capabilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel operations.

• Fundamentals of accounting and financial management.
• Budget drafting, control and financial reporting.
