About the role
The hotel is seeking a diligent Housekeeper and General Assistant to manage laundry operations and maintain cleanliness across the premises. The role involves handling all aspects of laundry processing, from sorting to finishing, while ensuring high standards of hygiene.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect incoming laundry for stains or damage and treat accordingly.
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold laundry according to classification and colour.
- Operate and maintain laundry machines, report any issues, and keep equipment clean.
- Perform minor sewing duties when required.
- Maintain accurate records of processed laundry and ensure timely return.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report replenishment needs.
Required profile
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 10 kg unaided.
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Required skills
- Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
